The Wick Award crew hosted a successful Hackney Wick Feast at St Mary of Eton Church, uniting the community with live music, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere. The event raised £2,000 to support local community meals and fight food waste.

Wick Award has taken up a secondment opportunity with Hackney CVS to play a leading role in developing the next phase of the Neighbourhoods Community Forums by bringing together communities, capturing the voice of the Neighbourhood and encouraging collaboration within the VCS to address the health inequalities in neighbourhoods.

New Eastway Youth Hub
In response to findings in our ‘Hackney Wick Through Young Eyes’ report, highlighting a lack of amenities for young people in the area, Hackney Council has opened a multi-use sports facility for young people behind the Old Baths on Eastway in Hackney Wick.

New management for Gascoyne 1 Hall
Residents on Gascoyne 1 Estate are taking over the management of their community hall on Gascoyne Road from Sanctuary Housing. The Residents’ Association is now planning an exciting new programme of community activities in the hall to benefit residents and the wider local community.
