Convert the empty lot opposite Felstead St on Chapman Rd into an amazing community garden. A great opportunity to involve everyone, young and old, into really improving the environment for local people.
Catrina
A bicycle club linked to the Olympic velodrome. The money could buy proper race bikes etc. Also a regular bike workshop to teach residents how mend and maintain their bikes.
Hopey
A bicycle donation centre that repairs and sells/hires bikes. Training people in the bicycle repair trade offering careers to those in need.

There is a real need to maximise the potential of positive appeal of the Olympics to the people of Hackney with sports centre/cafe/tennis courts/garden/community centre that should be accessible to all residents enough so they are, and feel as they are stakeholders in the project.

Make the most of Hackney Wick’s urban setting, making it a place for urban sport. Build a BMX/skate park, fill the area with dozens of outdoor table tennis tables, build an outdoor gym, parkour area, basketball courts, 5 a side football…
Claire
a healthy living centre that houses a gym, group exercise classes (yoga, pilates, circuits etc), alternative therapies, community kitchen, nutrition & health workshops/checks and an organic cafe supplied from the idea someone had about the communal garden

The arts and the Olympics have the chance to improve the area with stunning ideas in order to attract the attention and the investment. I suggest a series of installations or mobile playgrounds that will take place in the streets in order to emulate some of the Olympic sports. Example here.

Sporting facilities for local schools and the public on weekends and evenings specifically kayaking and any other way we can make use of the canal.
Dawn Hyland
The canal is such a great area to cycle. More bike lock ups and maybe some bike hire places would be great.
Belinda Jauns
We need more sporting facilities such as a gym, pool, indoor racket sports courts, kayaking, and leisure centres. I would also like to see more local amenities such as local fresh food shops, take-aways and an atm.

More use of the Canal. I know there is rowing but have no way of accessing it. Create other canal based projects and clubs that can be utilised for better use.

Community facilities are closed and empty. These should be controlled under a centralised system to coordinate and optimise how they are used.
Phyllis Kath
I would like to see a community hub or centre where everyone from the area can engage with activities and opportunities. I would also like to see a creche for children so that parents could get a bit of respite.
